Hi, I’m Aernoud, the creator of Inheritor. I built Inheritor out of a very personal need.
I live a simple life on a beach in Sri Lanka, spending my days reading spiritual books and enjoying music on my treasured audio equipment. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that letting go is one of the biggest lessons life has to teach us—letting go of control, of possessions, and eventually, of life itself. But when it came to my digital assets—my businesses, crypto wallets, and other important things—letting go felt difficult because my loved ones wouldn’t have the faintest idea how to access or manage them if I were gone. That thought wouldn’t leave me, and it became the seed for Inheritor.
I’ve led a rich entrepreneurial life, founding one of the first internet companies back in the early days of the web, along with many other ventures that have taken me to many places around the globe. I’ve traveled the world and learned so much from different cultures, experiences, and people. These journeys taught me to value simplicity, connection, and clarity.
These days, I prefer to step back, enjoy the present, and live a slower life. But when the idea for Inheritor hit me, I couldn’t resist the urge to bring it to life. Whilst I swore myself so many times I would not never get lost in the world of developers again, once it was in my mind, I had to code it. Along the way, some friends from my previous business ventures started helping me bring the code to reality. Currently, we are a small team working across continents to build Inheritor.
Creating Inheritor combines my lifelong passion for technology and innovation with my belief in that we also need embrace the act of letting go. Inheritor is not just about passing on assets—it’s about creating clarity, reducing stress for loved ones, and making sure our legacies reflect who we are.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I hope Inheritor can bring you the same peace of mind it has brought me.
